This is the beginning of your journey to full certification as a PADI Open Water SCUBA Diver starting with Confined Water. The perfect choice for those traveling to a tropical location! Confined water or pool diving is completed locally and prepares you for the second portion; Open Water. Through independent study, videos and skills mastery you will be fully prepared for your next vacation. During the Open Water portion, you will review the “greatest hits” of skills performed in Confined Water while in the company of an Instructor during actual dives in a reach ocean. All we need is two days of your time at roughly 5 hours each and your willingness to be blown away!
If you are ready for the journey of your life, then consider full PADI Open Water Certification. We will start with the Confined Water portion here in Montana, then discuss our Open Water options. To receive full certification, you will need to either brave the refreshing local waters (when they thaw) or take a trip to the Homestead Crater in Midway, Utah to complete the Open Water skills. Homestead Crater is our winter diving location due to its approximate temperatures of 96 degrees, the perfect place to begin your first Open Water diving experience! Either through our Referral program or full certification, we are fully prepared to accommodate your needs.
Do you want to try breathing underwater before you fully commit? Already Certified? Has it been more that 6 months since you’re since your last dive? This four hour class is for certified and non-certified divers to brush up on skills before their next trip or just get familiar with SCUBA if you’re on the fence about full certification. Reputable dive companies will require a refresher if it’s been 6 months or more since your last dive. Refreshing will lessen the anxiety of your first dive and build a stronger foundation upon skills you already know. PADI’s online ReActivate refresher program and pool sessions will get you back in the swim of things!
Certification classes area all inclusive: pool usage, SCUBA gear, books, instruction and certification card.
You will be required to purchase or use your own person gear: Mask, Snorkel, Fins.
SCUBA gear and Personal gear are available through SSA at very competitive prices and you can try before you buy. Contact us for our Open Water, Advanced and Master Diver Packages. If we don’t have it, we will get it for you!
